The Bulletin launches new Culture Matters column

The Bulletin’s primary goal is to amplify the voice of the entire surgical community – cultivating diversity and innovation. One way we aim to achieve this is by raising awareness and discussing key issues within the profession. Therefore in September 2022, we launched Culture Matters. A regular column shining a light on problems such as sexual harassment, racism and the lack of women in surgery. The working environment for our members is integral to patient care, therefore, with Culture Matters, we wanted to challenge the status quo and advocate for change on behalf of our membership. Ultimately improving surgical care for everyone, not just the surgical team.
