It’s the people that make the profession, and surgery is full of wonderful and diverse communities who have made RCS England their home.
Parents in Surgery
Our flagship Parents in Surgery project will help current and prospective surgeons balance parenthood and a surgical career. We have plans to develop supportive networks as part of this. Please register your early interest in this by emailing us at diversity@rcseng.ac.uk.
Women in Surgery network
Only approximately 17% of consultants in the UK are female, and we are on a mission to change that. Women in Surgery (WinS) is a national initiative dedicated to encouraging, enabling and inspiring women to fulfil their surgical career ambitions.
Register for the WinS network and you can connect with over 6,000 women from all career grades and specialties across the UK to collaborate, network and find support.
SAS Surgeons
In turning the spotlight on SAS careers, the College is committed to unlocking the potential of this diverse and skilled workforce. Find out more about our work in this area, hear inspiring stories from SAS doctors and dentists, and access resources to support SAS surgeons with their professional and career development.
Our members are at the heart of what we do
Join or transfer to RCS England to be part of the change and help us to drive our diversity, equity and inclusion work forward. We welcome medical students, trainees, surgeons at all career stages, SAS surgeons and those working in the wider surgical care team.
