Putting SAS surgeons front and centre
28 March 2023

We are committed to ensuring that SAS surgeons are respected and acknowledged for the contributions they can and do make, and to enhancing their opportunities.
As such we have undertaken an audit of all our activities to ensure that there are no barriers to SAS surgeons taking part in College life and we have made a number of changes to the way we work to make the College more welcoming for SAS surgeons.
We have also undertaken a four-nation research programme looking at the barriers to SAS surgeons achieving their full potential in the workplace and how we can facilitate activities which will enable the NHS to unlock the potential of this growing, and highly skilled, workforce.
We are pleased to have now launched some SAS case studies, demonstrating the important role that SAS surgeons have in the workforce.
