Census launching this spring

Following a pilot with two trusts in autumn 2022, we will be launching a national workforce census this spring.
The census is designed to capture the size and activity of the workforce, to inform future planning, as well as identifying the concerns and difficulties experienced by surgeons and their teams. It will allow us to better understand how the surgical workforce is evolving to meet current service challenges, and to gain insight into what issues are affecting you the most.
Your response will be vital and will support our policy and public affairs work, ensuring that the issues that matter are at the forefront of our conversations with government and healthcare leaders.
