Celebrating Parents in Surgery

We welcomed our new 2023 cohort of surgeons onto the Emerging Leaders programme today. Among them was Michaella Cameron, an ENT Registrar on maternity leave, who brought along her four-month old baby to the welcome day at the College.

Michaella says: “Now a first time mum, I am particularly interested in working on barriers that affect the long-term retainment of women in surgery. I look forward to networking with other women who are also finding their voice within the Royal College of Surgeons of England arena.”

The welcome day included sessions on governance, mentoring and presentations from the group on building community.
